Fiberglassed bottom of one side of the tail

We fiberglassed the bottom of one side of the tail today. It took 4oz
of epoxy and probably would have been better if we had mixed 5oz. It
looks like we did ok, but cut the glass a little shy.

We also managed to find enough plywood to make another outer spar.
The picture is of me using dads great scarfing jig. Dad is a master
of jigs!

Getting ready to fiberglass the tail

Yesterday, we worked on preping the tail for fiberglass. We worked
out our procedure and worked on cleaning up one of the outer front
spars.

We rolled out the fuselage and sat in it on a board just to get an
idea of how it would feel. It was 107.7 F in the hanger so we went
home a little early

Second coat on the table

Sanded and put another coat of paint on the table. The picture
would not have looked any different so i opted to add a picture of
the fuselage rolled out.

Fiberglass work table

Over the weekend, we extended the table to be 62" wide since our
fiberglass is 60" wide. Tonight I painted the table to seal the oils
in and keep the cloth clean.
