When I opened the box I had stored the first set of wing attach
fittings, I found a bunch of rusty parts. I spent tonight cleaning
and painting these sets

Segmented Vertical tail
We had problems hotwiring the tail because the drastic difference of
the chord at the top and the chord at the bottom. We were able to get
around this by segmenting the foam and cutting 3 pieces with 4
templates. This worked well.

We also did the cuts on the top and bottom of the spar for the airfoil
and are ready to mount the front outer spars on the next trip to the
airport.
Cut elevators
Got a late start today, but worked late and got a lot done. This is
one of the elevator halves ready to hotwire. One came out great, and
one came out terrible.

Sunday work
We worked on cutting the elevator, but lost power just as we finished
hoteiring the first side. We decided to call it a day since the winds
were getting wlvery gusty and the roof of the hanger was jumping up
and down. We went put to find dads car without a back window. The
wind just ripped it out. It was not a good day at the hanger.

Elevator foam glue up
This foam was glued together to make the elevator halves. Next
weekend we will probably hotwire these and mount them to the elevator
spar.

Elevator spar template
When we drilled the elevator for the dean hinges, we were off by just
a little bit, but enought that they did not move smooth enough for me.

I cut the first elevator spar in half, bolted the hindges on, then
glued a scrap of plywood across the 2 halves. I now have a template
to drill my new elevator spar.
Glued second front spar
This took about 5 pz of t88 glue. I always try to mix too much glue
and have something else ready to use the extra. This time I had to
mix 2 times and Still cut it close!

2nd front spar
We cut all the pieces including the top plywood for the 2nd front
spar. It's 98 degrees in the hanger, so no more gluing today!
